Clinical Study: Phytoproflex® as a Supportive Therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis
Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is among the most common causes of chronic joint pain and reduced mobility worldwide. While exercise, physiotherapy, weight management, and medications remain the foundation of treatment, researchers continue to investigate complementary therapies that may improve symptoms and quality of life.
A clinical registry published in Minerva Medica evaluated Phytoproflex®, a botanical supplement formulated with boswellic acid, curcumin, and valeric acid, as an adjunct to conventional osteoarthritis management.

Why This Study Matters

Participants continued receiving their usual treatment for osteoarthritis. Among them, 24 patients additionally received Phytoproflex® throughout the four-week study period.
Supplement Composition
The Phytoproflex® formulation evaluated in this study contained:
- Boswellic Acid (90%)
- Curcumin (20%)
- Valeric Acid (0.8%)
These botanical ingredients were selected because of their potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pain-modulating effects.

Because this investigation was an observational registry, the findings should be interpreted as supportive preliminary evidence. Larger randomized controlled clinical trials are needed to further validate these results.
